Summer vacation. Hmmm... Wanna do something spectacular this year? Wanna immerse yourself in American History and travel back in time? Then bring the family and join yer friends at Boyds Bear Country^TM for one heck of an Independence Day Celebration. During every weekend throughout the month of July we'll be hosting Civil War Living History Weekends at The World's Most Humongous Teddy Bear Store.

Guests can enjoy battle reenactments, 19th century living history demonstrations, artillery, infantry, and cavalry demonstrations, and a dress parade. The authentic encampment will be open to the public 10am-6pm every Saturday and 9am-6pm on Sundays. Battle reenactments are scheduled for 2pm.

The final weekend in July offers sumptin' extra special for everyone...Boyds Bear Country will host a Civil War Ball. The ball offishully begins at 8pm on July 26, but if you need a crash course on how to do some of those fancy schmancy dances, then come at 7pm for an hour-long dance instruction. The ball is free and open to the public.

We'll also have special appearances by The Moon Sisters, Civil War Female Spies. In case you're not familiar with the Moon Sisters, let me just say you'll be riveted to your seat and filled with laughter as you listen to historically documented tales of love and adventures of espionage by those crazy sisters. Just to whet your appetite, Lottie Moon Clark was engaged 26 times and left three men at the altar including General Ambrose Burnside. Ginnie Moon was engaged 22 times and carved Jeff Davis's name on a store window with her diamond. That's all I can tell you, you'll just have to be there to get the full scoop.
